We’re currently recruiting for a Director Group Accounting to be part of their transformational journey.
In your role as Director Group Accounting, you will lead the Group Accounting function within Advario. This includes the responsibility for ongoing daily management of processes, initiatives and reporting requirements as well as developing the function further and improving existing processes. You will report to the VP Group Controlling & Accounting and work closely with the entire CFO team of Advario and the interfaces to their strategic holding Marquard & Bahls (M&B). This also includes close cooperation with other subsidiaries, as well as the functional management of all group and HQ accounting topics for the implementation of the Advario strategy and standards.
Responsibilities
- Leading the Group Accounting and entity accounting team for the Headquarters. This includes functional and disciplinary leadershipSetting and maintaining the OT Group wide Accounting (IFRS) policies, procedures, and guidelines in alignment with the strategic holding Marquard & Bahl
- Implementing of new and updated IFRS standards for the Group entities and giving clear guidance to all local entities
- Preparation of consolidated Financial Statements for the entire group
- Coordination and supervision of the year-end closing process and audits
- Contact for auditors, authorities and Treasury
- Maintain IFRS impairment model and support Group wide accounting issues
- Member of Due Diligence teams for Accounting workstreams in M&A projects
- Data owner of group-wide ERP and EPM Chart of accounts
- Continuous development of people, processes and related IT systems incl. digitalization initiatives
- Perform other related duties as assigned
Your profile
- Minimum 10 years of experience in the field of (Group) Accounting and Consolidation
- Good accounting knowledge according to IFRS standards and Dutch GAAP (German GAAP is a benefit)
- Strong knowledge and understanding of corporate law
- Extensive experience in leading people and advising Group company corporations and partnerships with interlocking relationships
- Profound knowledge in consolidation (SAP EPM)
- Thinking across the board and open-minded for corporate and business management.
- Strong skills in driving change while keeping employees’ concerns in mind
- A structured, analytical, and solution-oriented approach to work
- Excellent English skills (written and spoken). German is an advantage but not a must
- High on energy, low on ego and with a lot of humor
